Emerging Artists 2019

The Emerging Artists program is an opportunity for young chamber musicians seeking to enhance and broaden their experience towards a professional music career.

An opportunity to immerse in great chamber music in preparation for festival concerts.  Daily rehearsals and coaching/mentoring from PCMF artist-faculty, attend and perform in PCMF concerts and performance class events, featured performance in the Emerging Artists Concert, and enjoy Wrightsville Beach!


  • WHAT    Port City Music Festival Emerging Artists Program.

  • WHEN    June 2-9, 2019.

  • WHERE    Wilmington, NC.

  • WHO    Open to both individual chamber musicians and preformed existing classical chamber music ensembles (e.g. string trio/quartet/quintet, piano trio/quartet/quintet).  College/university and post-graduate (ages 18-30). 

  • ENROLLMENT Capacity (15):

    • 6 Violinists

    • 3 Violists

    • 3 Cellists

    • 3 Pianists

  • PERFORMANCES    1.) Prepare a complete chamber music work for the PCMF Emerging Artists Concert at Cape Fear Community College Union Station Auditorium (June 8, 2019).  2.) Encouraged participation in the PCMF Performance Classes (throughout the week).  2.) Participation in the PCMF Orchestra rehearsals/concerts (June 6, 7, 9, 2019).

  • TUITION    Full scholarships awarded.

  • REGISTRATION FEE $195 (due upon acceptance).

  • HOUSING FEE $495 (due upon acceptance). Seahawk Crossing at the University of North Carolina Wilmington.

  • MEALS Not provided.

  • TRANSPORTATION    Not provided.
